Media notes
BAEA, presumed female. Note, this eagle is located well off center of the nest and is more in brooding posture rather than incubation posture.
Observation details
When we arrived, the adult on the nest was in brooding posture, not incubating posture. (This is in contrast to an adult observed on the nest on March 29, 2019, in incubation posture.) Today, the adult on the nest would often look down into the nest in front of itself, further suggesting that a young bird was in the nest. We continued watching with a spotting scope. Eventually the adult stood up and walked slowly around the nest. For a brief moment we saw one small dark gray head in the nest. There could be more that one young. We only saw one chick on this visit. During our whole visit, the second adult (presumed male) was in the next super-canopy tree to the east.
