Observation details
Had initially considered Common Redshank but ran my pics by a birder experienced with redshanks. His response: Spotted Redshank are longer legged birds and feed in deeper water than the common redshank. Your bird is doing that. It is an adult Spotted Redshank in winter plumage. Also note the longer bill and pale throat. The Common Redshank is a duskier, browner bird with a shorter, slightly stouter bill.
