Observation details
Nightjar. The crown of the head is rounder than a Chuck-Wills-widow and the head shape appears exactly correct for Eastern Whip-poor-will. (Head lacks the flattened appearance of Chuck-wills). The tail as seen from below is light all the way to the end, correct for Whip-poor-will and unlike Chuck-wills. Coloration is predominantly grays, with rufous tones in wings. Bill shape with the protruding nostril exactly as in allaboutbirds, Eastern Whip. Found by Dominic. Thanks! On near horizontal branch above brick path near cabin.
