Observation details

Flyover at Coleman lake and then 2 or more birds calling and singing at intersection of road 500 and 548. These birds were backlit so no coloration, but I could clearly see the forked tail on a small compact finch. The bill looked short and blunt and I could almost make out the crossed mandible but at 150 feet away through binoculars, I cannot say that I definitely saw the crossed bill. One bird sang as well as called. I made a poor recording of the call. the wav file is 45 sec and the bird doesn't call until the last 10 seconds of the recording. Call type verified by Timothy Spahr.
