Ross’s Goose: No dusky plumage or gap between mandibles like a snow goose might have. The bill is short with less beveling along tomia, and a vertical line of feathering is present. Additionally, it has a small roundish head and short pinkish legs.
Observation details
I came upon this Ross's Goose while leaving the park last year. It was strolling with some Canada Geese. It wasn't too frightened by me if I kept my distance. Based on the small size, head size, mandible without gap, vertical line of feathering, short pink legs, short neck, and stubby bill, I do not believe this is a hybrid cross of a Ross's Goose and a Snow Goose.
