Observation details
Continuing. Resting with other gulls at the mouth of Dude Creek. I ran into Kathy Hocker and Kimber Owen who were looking for the King Eiders. We saw the Eiders and the Slaty-backed Gull. I took some photos through my scope then moved closer trying for better lighting, but the SBGU flew. Still thousands of gulls west of town with more Glaucous-winged, Herring, and Iceland (Thayer's) Gulls than I have been seeing. I spent several hours trying to find unusual species in the flocks of gulls resting on shore, but did not come up with anything new.
