Observation details

Red-necked phalaropes with an eye spot, prominent wing stripe and central tail stripe. Didn't see any Wilson's phalaropes with a white rump. Red phalaropes are rare at Great Salt Lake. Phalaropes are quite abundant at the Great Salt Lake during migration. Wilson's phalaropes leave earlier than red-necks. Red-necks in small flocks can stay into December.
