Observation details
Within the first ten seconds of walking onto the Goat Island bridge, I saw a very pointy, ashy grey Gull scything over the bridge. The blotchy head and quite powerful build had me calling Slaty Backed (imagine!)... later found it to be my first ever Lesser Black Back! We later found three of them loafing among the Herring Gulls on an island... I was actually a little startled at how powerful and brutish they were, compared to the literature. But they were undeniably beautiful... especially the colours! The bright orange legs... the gradation of grey and black on the wings... very very pleasing!
