JW: lot of coral here, vast majority is bleached, totally white, did find some corals think we can get a meter to a meter and a half long record. Corals very deep here, about 150¿ down, out of our reach, is something 10 feet, 30 meters, so we¿re going to go back and get the drill, go at it.¿ [VG] AC: Rob, how deep? RD: Probably down to 90¿. Good sized coral, barely out of range for us. Hoses on the drill 100¿ long, petty windy on other side of the island, lots of corals, little school of hammerheads that swam by - lots of fish, crystal clear water, even if working at 60¿ could see it all; I¿ve never been at a place where so many of the corals have been bleached white before. Still alive, but tissues lacking cells that give them color. Never seen that many. Here 95-98% of corals bleached, down at considerable depth, must be some kind of coral disease here.
