Observation details
Adult. Largish bird that was smaller than the surrounding small CANG but not so much so that it stood out clearly amid the small CANG. it was paler and more silvery in appearance than even the palest CANG, but the distinct difference was the extreme short bill and shorter, proportionately thicker neck which was held straight down while feeding. Coloration and curvature along the leading edge of the white cheek identified the subspecies. Photos
