Observation details
Continuing bird found by Scott Angus on Friday afternoon. First heard calling by bridge on Cemetery/New Road around 7:30 for a few minutes. Heard calling again at around 7:45. Eventually seen at 8:04. Flying around red shed and marshy area of Little Flat Brook west of Cemetery/New Road across the street from the Hainesville WMA parking lot. Bird was viewed mainly from the road and from behind the abandoned house just to the southwest on Cemetery/New Road. Heard calling ‘chip’ note for well over an hour. Call was very similar to that of DO/HAWO, which was what I initially thought it was. Upon listening to BLPH call on my phone, I quickly realized what I was hearing was the BLPH. Smallish sized passerine, dark black above, light white below (very bold black and white unlike EAPH). Lighter wingbars. Also was pumping/wagging tail. Bird was present when I left. Photos are available and will be uploaded
