Observation details
Upon arriving back to Sabine Woods (coming from Pilot Road). A birder informed us that a Black-whiskered Vireo had been recently found in the "Salt Cedars" near the entrance to Sea Rim SP. We bolted down there and found about ten other birders looking for the bird. After about 20 minutes the bird was spotted and stayed relatively still for awhile for a decent look. Several people took pictures. I was one of the last people to get a good view of the bird and I only took one picture which is available to reviewer upon request. A vireo very similar to Red-eyed Vireo. Bill stout, and dagger like. Dingy gray crown, dark thick eyeline through eye with white supercillium. White underneath. Upper parts mostly dingy brownish green. Dark lateral throat stripe was visible. Bird did not vocalize.
