Observation details
Originally found and reported by Brian Ahern at this location. In winter plumage. Slender-bodied shorebird with dark, thin, slender bill; white throat, chest, and belly; light gray crown, nape, continuing down entire back; ocular area has a slight 'smudgy' appearance to it (larger dark area around eyes than that of Lesser Yellowlegs (LEYE)). Also, face and chest white and not gray like LEYE, and seems to be lighter-colored in general than LEYE (especially in the bright sunshine at the time). Flocking with 3 LEYE. Photos:
