Observation details
***Very rare, continuing found yesterday by Mark and Brian Faherty on the CBC; center of first field behaving like a vole in small tussocks of grass near single mullein stalk. After checking a patch of taller grass on the east side of the field, the three of us formed a closely spaced flushing line and headed towards the center of the field. About two minutes into our walk the bird flushed ~2 feet from JPE's feet and flew a short distance into a small hollow. Upon calling of the other birders present, we formed a partial circle and moved in till we located the bird. Observed and photographed it foraging for over an hour. Very accommodating bird.
