Observation details
We first saw the bird at quite a distance however it slowly came closer and at some points was hawking just overhead. The Swift had an obvious white rump when it came closer, the structure of the bird was even obvious at range with longish tail, pointed wings and deeply forked tail. The feature that clinched the species and age of the bird was the white trailing edge to the secondaries.
