Observation details
An egret was seen earlier in the day flying around the ship but it disappeared. Then these two birds showed up late in the day and landed on the zodiaks to rest. I vacillated back and forth trying to decide if this is a dark-legged cattle egret or an intermediate egret. I believe it is cattle because of the build and the small size as compared to the motor of the zodiac. A closer look at the legs show that they are a greenish black rather than a black. I would appreciate it if someone familiar with both species could let me know their opinion.
