Media notes
NOTES: 80Hz low-cut filter on Sound Devices 744T. I approached an active nest built on a slightly raised tussock on the edge of a mostly frozen, large tundra lake. This is the same area as I've been for the last half dozen cuts or so. The first short segment is without a attenuation. After the first announcement, I switched the -10dB attentuator on the Sennheiser MKH 70 microphone. I give notes on the nests of Sterna paradisaea and Branta bernicla nigricans. Sound stimulation was (other): Human presence at nest.. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Response to playback: Attack. Other Behaviors: Mob. Habitat: Tundra, Arctic Tundra, Lake.
