NOTES: Recorded with Optimus Micro-35 Microcassette Recorder. This recorder was recording off-speed. Duet recorded at 3 m distance (overload microphone) from group containing 4-5 individuals in dense Chusquea bamboo in open, at Otuto Pampa 3130-3145 masl. Site described in Valqui (2004). Plumage: gray forecrown, warm brown crown-nape, No barring or markings seen on back, wings or tail, white superciliary (from my sketch: dark auricular pactch-lore and malar stripe), warm rufous brown breast. Foraging in non bamboo 0.5 m high and then flew into bamboo. Genus likely to change to Pheugopedius. LNS: Subject changed from Thryothorus sp. nov. to Pheugopedius sp. pending resolution of the the taxonomic status of this population. -Matt Medler, 15 July 2013.
