Observation details

Apparent first winter bird. First seen as it was resting on the parking lot with Ring-billed and Mew Gulls at the Marina. Large (relative to the nearby Ring-billed and Mew gulls), bulky, pink-legged gull with white primaries, very pale grayish/brown upper and lower parts. Dark eye, pink bill with well-defined black tip. The gull stayed during the entire count and was 70 to 120 feet away; several photos. This is only the 6th or 7th report of this species in Umatilla County.
