Observation details
Northwest corner of west pond. Foraging 6-25 ft high in deciduous trees (I saw it grab and eat two berries as well). The dark lores were obvious at all angles (i.e. not a product of the photo's angle) -- which is what made me look closer in the first place. Pretty drab and washed out color-wise. Yellow only a light wash, sometimes hardly discernible, but was concentrated in throat area and around tail. It made no noise. Spent maybe 5 minutes watching it with great looks. Jared was only able to get three photos in the last 30 seconds before it flew off. Could not refind. County bird number 184 and a lifer! Also a first county record I think. Photo by Jared Del Rosso:
