Observation details
*Mega-rarity, first discovered this morning by Bryon Lichtenhan. To separate from Tundra Swan, we noted long triangular bills with straight culmen and small tomato-red gape patch. The birds stayed together and apart from other waterfowl in the recharge basins. They interacted with each other by flicking their wings up above the back, bobbing their heads, and giving soft honking sounds. They took off and flew away outof sight to the northwest at 17:26 and then came back and landed in the easternmost basin about 10 minutes later.
