Observation details
Stopped to look at a field on Pendleton that bordered our CBC sector. The low-flying hawk suddenly appeared moving north and passed near to where 4 observers were watching the Meadowlarks. It flew so close that we could see and ID clearly before we even raised our binoculars. Light head, belly, and tail. Turning on Rio Rico Rd. past the southern end of the field, surprised to see the Ferruginous Hawk perched on the power pole at the RR tracks. Believe it is the bird first reported by Ron Batie. Appears to be first year juvenile.
