Media notes
NOTES: These birds were unseen at first. Recorded and played back. They immediately came across the quebrada behind the skinning tent and began singing only 6m from me, near the ground. Last segment includes mechanical wing sounds and an odd, soft churring vocalization as they foraged as close as 3m from my feet. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Synallaxis azarae superciliosa to Synallaxis azarae to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Habitat: Forest, Cloudforest, Evergreen Forest, Deciduous Forest.
