Observation details
Seen at about 8:15 AM. These finch-like birds (about bluebird size) were feeding in Virginia pines that we could see from the back windows. The males were a subdued pink-red with black wings with a pair of white wing bars. Bill was obviously crossed. Tail longish and forked. The female was yellowish streaked with brown. Black wings with a pair of white wing bars. I was able to get some photographs from the porch and through the window.
