NOTES: Initially natural song, though possibly after I had whistled at the bird, by a male that was 15 meters away and 2 meters up in a dense thicket amid relatively scrubby forest in the ÒPau BrasilÓ Reserve; later after playback, the bird was 10-12 meters away and again 2 meters up, but now perched in the open facing me; in response to playback, the bird approached and flew about aggressively giving both similar songs and ÒpikÓ calls; I saw the singing bird well using playback and confirmed that it had a semicircular, white inter-scapular patch; there were clearly two birds, I think the second bird was also a male but I did not see it well; partly cloudy (high thin clouds), intermittent breeze, 82-84¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth, Scrub.
