NOTES: Two birds, presumably a pair of which I saw the female briefly (the other bird, presumably the male, was calling more frequently but it was also was farther away and higher up), were initially 35 meters away and high up in trees along the edge of the small clearing along the road just short of the sharp bend at the base of the hill; in the second part, the unseen bird was probably 40 meters away and 30 meters up in trees on the slope across the stream; this was recorded following playback of the cut on the Antbird Master tape, in response to which these birds gave similar calls more frequently, but they did not approach; these were presumably the same birds previously recorded in cuts #2001-18-01 & 03; partly cloudy, trace breeze, 78¡ F. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Establish Flock Contact, Mate, Advertise, Social Context: Mixed. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Creek, Riparian, Edge.
