NOTES: Subspecies nahmburgii. Initially a variety of natural calls by two birds, later song by one bird and calls by the other following playback of the calls; during the latter part of this recording I saw the male perched on a diagonal branch 1 1/2 meter up and 12 meters away with a second unseen bird apparently nearby; there were at least three and possibly four birds (three of which were singing), but I saw only the male well; I am not sure if this was a family group or two rival pairs; the birds were initially about 15 meters away and generally 1-2 1/2 meters up in moderately dense undergrowth in the mid-levels of low-stature forest on the plateau with 12-20 meter-tall trees with mid-levels quite open, at least in places; the response to playback of the call was minimal but to song the bird approached weakly and only after quite some time; the male that I saw occasionally erected its crest feathers; the male that I saw appeared almost entirely slaty-gray, apart from having a darker crown and tail, and a red eye; almost completely overcast, intermittently breezy, 82-83¡ F. Number of individuals=AM1UU2-3; Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Mate, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
