NOTES: Initially 15-20 meters away and 15 meters up (eyelevel in a tree down the slope), later 25 meters away and 25 meters up in vine tangles; clearly two birds present, with a male seen along the trail at eyelevel with its inter-scapular patch flared, possibly in or after an interaction; no apparent response to playback (though they moved off before I began playback); recorded in the same area where I earlier recorded the Sclerurus in cut #2000-02-09 completely clear, calm, 71¡ F. LNS: Subject changed from Dysithamnus plumbeus tucuyensis to D. leucostictus tucuyensis to reflect current taxonomy. -Matt Medler, 3 January 2011. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Cloudforest, Evergreen Forest. ML: Subject changed from Dysithamnus leucostictus tucuyensis to Dysithamnus mentalis at the suggestion of Jhonathan Miranda. Jay McGowan, 16Mar2021.
