Media notes
NOTES: A male of a pair that had been frequenting this area was seen and recorded, initially 18-20 meters away and 3 meters up, in an undergrowth bush on the slope above me with downward hanging leaves and dark red flowers along the branches; the bird was moving almost constantly with other tanagers (in all a pair of Thlypopsis, one Tangara guttata and two T. cyanoptera), in roadside scrub near the same draw where I recorded previous cuts along Camino de los Espa¿oles between Los Caminos and Las Canoas; no apparent response to playback; cloudy, breezy, 79¡ F. Other Behaviors: Establish Flock Contact, Social Context: Mixed. Habitat: Cloudforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth, Scrub, Canyon.
