NOTES: The first three parts of this recording (before 5:49:04, the first of which was not copied) followed playback of two songs, the next part after playback of one more song; the bird was now 40 meters away and 20-25 meters up overhead in tall terra firme forest along the road at the edge of the clearing at the first dip in the road (about 100 meters farther out the road from where this bird typically sang); in response to limited playback, the bird came right up overhead and sang somewhat more agitated songs (most of which I missed getting the tape back to the correct place); playback of one additional song resulted in the bird flying back-and-forth overhead silently; it crossed to the south side of the road only after playback; a second bird also seemed to be present; partly cloudy, calm, 78¡ F; don't copy first part where nothing sings. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides to Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides/dorbignyanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
