NOTES: This bird was unseen when I recorded the first part of this recording, but about 25-30 meters away and 20 meters up, and for the second part I could see its shape perched atop a dead branch 25 meters away and 22-25 meters up, and both times at the edge of tall terra firme forest about 200 meters in from the pastures and right at the beginning of the trail just before the second dip in the road [03¡ 47' 34" S, 60¡ 17' 54" W]; the last calls of both parts were given right as the bird flew off; the bird was silent when I arrived and only called following my whistled imitations of its song, in response to which it approached and was well seen as it moved all around me, at times using exposed perches as low as 3 1/2 meters up, but it never sang; this was recorded in the same spot and presumably highlights the same individual as cuts #2000-28-06 & 2000-34-07; starting to get light with a 3/4 moon about 65-70¡ up in western sky; high thin clouds, calm, upper 70s. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Scold. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
