NOTES: Bird was unseen when recorded 10-15 meters away and 5-8 meters up in a low spot in the understory of relatively good terra firme forest with open understory and mid-levels and some palms about 400-500 meters out the trail that extended along a property line on the north side of the road; this bird came darting back-and-forth overhead in response to playback and was well seen, often perching on exposed perches 3-7 meters up on small horizontal twigs amid relatively open growth; after playback, the bird also gave more of the ÒwheeÓ calls; a young male with dull plumage patterns described on tape; mostly overcast, calm, 79¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Lek, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
