NOTES: This bird was seen moving up and down an open trunk, 8-10 meters up, and recorded after I imitated its calls, in response to which the bird approached; the bird was with a mixed-species flock that included a Piculus and Xiphorhynchus pardalotus; this was recorded in second-growth forest, possibly with a campina influence, just in from edge of an open, sandy campina; probably the same bird as that in the previous cut (#00-RDAT02-06), now unseen but 20 meters away and 8-10 meters up in an area where the mid-levels of the forest were relatively open; almost completely clear, calm to trace breeze, upper 70s to low 80s. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Scold, Social Context: Mixed. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
