NOTES: Songs by what appeared to be three birds (at least two males were seen together, but I never saw a female) that were 18 meters away, maybe a little less, and 2 meters up when recorded, but later seen from ground level up to about 2 1/2-3 meters up, though typically at about eye level, in dense scrub in the undergrowth of the forest at the upper end of the island; this was recorded after playback of a prerecorded tape made by Andrew Whittaker; these birds were silent before playback but they responded by approaching, calling, and eventually singing consistently; it appears that we may have provoked an interaction by neighboring males; partly cloudy. calm, 92¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, River, Island, Second-growth, Scrub.
