NOTES: Songs by a pair of birds, both members of which were seen well, 15-20 meters away and about 2 meters up at edge of Gynerium cane with much scrub mixed-in and Cecropia overhead; these birds were not actually in the cane but generally in the adjacent scrubby growth moving from ground level (hopping on the ground) up to about 2 meters, but often about 1 meter up; initially natural, then after playback of themselves; the birds were not singing much initially, but they approached and moved back-and-forth in front of us and they sang more following playback; recorded on the lower part of the island; hazy with small clouds. intermittent breeze, upper 80s to mid- 90s (there is a good chance that the thermometer had been ÒcookedÓ at this point); presumably the same pair highlighted in cut #2000-17-11 recorded ten days later; filter in the flat position. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: River, Rural, Island, Second-growth, Scrub.
