NOTES: Bird was unseen at the time as it sang from 20 m away and <1 m up in dense undergrowth in a flat, wet area below marker #11, but what was apparently this same bird was seen shortly later singing from a different perch; when seen bird would look around and wag its tail up-and-down; 2-3 birds were singing in the immediate vicinity so it was difficult to be certain that the bird seen was the same one that was recorded; partly cloudy, breezy, 84°F. ML: Subject changed from Phaethornis longuemareus to P. striigularis to reflect current taxonomy. -Matt Medler, 10 Oct 2017. Other Behaviors: Lek, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
