NOTES: Recorded in three parts, the first at 16:45, the second at 16:48, and the third after we saw the bird at 17:08; before playback of itself (the first two parts), the bird was initially about 50 m away, then about 30 m, and finally 10-12 m away and 4-5 m up at the end; even the first parts were recorded after playback of a prerecorded tape, to which there was no apparent response; however, subsequent playback of itself, resulted in a silent approach, and eventual song; the bird typically came in to perches 4-10 m up amid older second-growth on slope just above base clearing; once they located the owl, both Myadestes and Turdus began mobbing it; dense low clouds, some breeze at times, 65-66¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Cloudforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth, Edge.
