Observation details
A possible Willow Flycatcher. While we were observing a nearby Willow Flycatcher, this second empid was seen perched facing away from us in the shadow of a willow tree. It appeared to be approximately the same size as the nearby Willow Flycatcher. It had a dark gray/green back, two wing bars. Shorter wing extensions made the notched tail seem long. We were never able to see any eye ring, and only a brief glimpse on the bill, that did appear to have a dark upper mandible, and light lower mandible. Because it was facing away, we could not see the breast or belly color. Photo:
