Observation details
**first PF record, immature bird originally loafing on the ice with the other gulls and then later flying around. Medium sized Larus sp., intermediate in size between nearby RBGU and HERG, all dark bill, lighter face with darker eye spot, a long attenuated shape with long primary projection, and fairly clean and pale uppertail coverts seen in flight. Most likely a 1CY bird. Inexplicably rare in Luzerne County, with only a handful of records, though seemingly increasing in recent years.
