JN 7Sep2005 Physical Description of Sound: incipient male (C2) and Female (D2) barks + occasionally whimper (G); Apparent Biological Purpose of Sound: C2 and D2 probably warning function, G is probably a distress call; What Behavior Accompanied Vocalization: the group was traveling slowly and feeding in small secondary growth trees at edge of Rio Hiqueron; Recording of a group feeding and slowly traveling. Eating sounds and moving branches can be heard. C2 and D2 were probably stimulated by presence of observer. animals occasionally came within 5' of observer. Habitat: Forest, Riparian.
