Observation details
**rare; photos; presumably the same bird seen the previous evening, although sightings along the Changuinola Canal (see also those photos) suggest that this species may be a regular passage migrant (along with swallows and Chimney Swifts) in this area; Chestnut-collared Swifts also present for direct comparison, but the Black was much larger, longer-winged, with bowed wings when flying away, all dark, with a long caudal projection and long tail with a moderate notch, photos show some pale frosting around face that fully eliminates possibility of Spot-fronted, White-fronted, or White-chinned.
