Observation details
While conducting a bird survey for Audubon of Florida Jeff Liechty discovered this first Pinellas record of a Sabine's Gull. It was with other resting gulls/terns along the beach behind the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary - which was formerly called the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary. It stayed for only 5 minutes or so. Photos and info provided by Jeff Liechty and with his permission. In Florida Field Naturalist Vol 48-3 and within the 29th Report of the Florida Ornithological Society Records Committee, pp 112, this Sabine's Gull was accepted and added to the Pinellas County list (fide R.Smith).
