NOTES: Reference: Thompson, Paul O. and William A. Friedl, 1982, "A long-term study of low-frequency sounds from several species of whales off Oahu, Hawaii. Cetology 45: September 30, 1982. Equipment notes from this reference indicate "two hydrophones, 11.6km apart and bottom-mounted at 400 fathoms off the northernmost point of Oahu... Hydrophone response was essentially flat from 20 to 300Hz and was attenuated at about 15dB per octave above." [MLNS notes: Date is approximate; reel was recorded between 16Sept1980 and 2Oct1980; it is unclear for exactly which dates during that period recordings were made. Sounds above 1kHz filtered out using Krohn-Hite model 3382 filter, due to parasitic machine noise from running at 2.38cm/s. 22Jun2005 CB]. SEAOCEAN.
