Observation details
stakeout; immature male; green crown and back, dark flight feathers, wings extending slightly beyond tail, thin straight beak, narrow white ring around eye, with short extension behind eye, throat dark-speckled, underparts pale grayish with perhaps some buffy tones, but actual colour difficult to discern because of artificial lighting at feeders, white undertail coverts, tail dark; NOTE: apparent orange colour seen in some images on breast and crown is an artefact of the lighting at the feeders in combination with the red reflection from the feeders
