Media notes
somewhat problematic recording; when I recorded it, both Rooks and Large-billed Crows were in the area, with a Large-billed pair on the close pole and Rooks on the wire down to the right (including the ones in the photo in this checklist). I thin kthe calls at the end of the recording here were Rooks and that the Large-billed flew off just before the recording (possibly with calls at the beginning). The calls at the beginning of this list sound the same to those at the end to me and don't match the typical calls I was hearing from Large-billed on this trip. I wish I'd kept better voice notes on the original recording, but I feel comfortable uploading these under Rook. Note also the loud Oriental Magpie calling in this recording.
Observation details
a large flock of corvids moved from town across to agriculture fields and for the first time let me confirm that these were all Rooks (other than a few jackdaws, but importantly had no Carrion Crows among them)
