Observation details
I flushed a small warbler from the ground at close range and immediately noted its small size and yellowish rump. It landed nearby in some young pines and fortunately worked slowly through the outer foliage for excellent views. Small warbler with relatively short tail and dense gray streaking across flanks and breast (streaks more uniform than what is typical for Yellow-rumped Warbler). Relatively thin bill; hint of vertical yellow bar behind gray cheek. I was able to get some good photos with iPhone through 8X binocular, at close range and with sun at my back.
