*Second island record (first at Pembroke Marsh, Jan 1996). Seen in small marshy area at east end of pond/loop trail. Skulky. In small shrubs in marsh near where the marsh grass meets pond’s edge. Record photos attached. First heard calling - giving characteristic irregularly paced nasal “chit” call, sometimes doubled up. Finally seen and photographed after some effort. Small dark Wren. Short tail cocked. Pale below with broad buff sides. Solid dark crown, white supercilium, specked ear coverts, rufous nape bordered by black-and-white streaks. Upper back rufousy brown, wings patterned rufous and black with fine barring, upper and underside of tail barred including black and white undertail coverts. Short slightly decurved bill that is thin and sharply pointed. (32.3131010, -64.7229223)
