NOTES: Now both members of pair were present (including bird in cut #05-RDAT02-13); birds were apparently disturbed by my presence near apparent nest, which Brian Daniels looked for but was unable to find; birds were moving about but they also perched motionless for extended periods of time; birds were both carrying what appeared to be small white caterpillars crosswise in their bills; the bird highlighted in previous recording never flew down to nest site in dense vegetation at base of tree, but its mate did; these birds had been giving ÒseetÓ calls just before I made this recording; this was recorded about 1 1/2 miles up trail in a place where the canyon closed in a bit with pines, maples, and Douglas Fir, but fewer oaks; clear, 5-10 knot breeze down canyon, upper 60s to low 70s. [These are presumably the Harsh Chip Calls of BNA, given as a scold by adult carrying food. Quality unchanged (2) - CAM - 1 September 2005]. Other Behaviors: Mate, Establish Parent Young Contact, Emit Alarm, Social Context: Family. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, Stream, Canyon.
