Observation details
Notes taken at the site: Ducks on the water with stiff tails. Had to separate from Ruddy Ducks. Immediately noted the huge dark bills,pale to white areas on the face. One white area was in the auricular area and the other near the eye. When the birds flapped or stretched, there was no white in the wing. Black cap, dark back with pale but not white flanks. Could have been a sunlight distortion.
