NOTES: "Vocalizations from recently fledged Cassin's Finch; bird was eventually fed by adult. Wing fluttering occurred. Area contained Lodgepole pines adjacent to open meadow." BNA: Unsure of the vocalization of this fledgling. Possibly Keeup Calls? CZ 30/07/2004. [Despite the announcement, I doubt that young of this species would be out of the nest by the end of May (see also Annual Cycles graph in BNA account - Figure 6). As such, I suspect that this represented "courtship feeding" rather than an adult feeding a fledged young. Unfortunately, there is no detailed description of the "young" bird, so it is impossible to be certain. I believe this is primarily the "too-ee-oo" call described in BNA account, but there are other, more excited, calls that seem typical of begging (1:45-2:00). Quality unchanged (2-3 - though approaching quality 2) - CAM - 7 February 2005]. Other Behaviors: Beg, Perform Visual Display.
